Commercial Carpet Squares
Carpet squares, tiles, and samples for homes and commercial use.
Commercial carpet squares, also known as commercial carpet tiles, are a great option for any business looking for an affordable, nice source of carpeting.
Generally speaking, commercial carpet squares are more affordable than regular carpeting, or higher quality carpet can be purchased for the same price that a regular carpet would have otherwise ended up costing. There are a few reasons for this.
First of all, commercial carpet squares are sold by the box. Each box will contain a certain number of tiles, and those tiles will cover up to a certain number of square feet. Since offices may not always be perfectly square or rectangular, the modular nature of these squares makes it attractive to business owners looking to either partially carpet a commercial setting, or to cover a commercial setting with carpet, but one with an awkward shape.
A typical commercial carpet square will be two by two feet in terms of measurements. Since commercial settings (and most rooms in general) are measured in terms of square feet, each tile will measure roughly four square feet in terms of area.
Thus, if you have a commercial space that measures 1,000 square feet, for example, you’ll want to buy 250 commercial carpet squares for this purpose. Standard pricing per box of 12 squares will run about $60, making each square about 5 dollars. This is very cheap in the grand scheme of things, as a 1,000 square foot space could likely be covered for about $1,000 in this case.
However, many retailers will offer you discounts if you’re buying multiple sets at once, meaning that you can likely work the price down by up to 20 percent for these.
Naturally, the quality of the commercial carpet squares you have in mind will also dictate the pricing structure. Lower grade carpeting will sell for less, while premium, thicker and denser carpet will sell for more. If you can get to a carpet tile wholesale distributor, you can probably enjoy even more savings, or higher quality for the same price. There are also often closeouts on carpet tiles that may give you the opportunity to take advantage of some heavily discounted sale items.
Be careful when getting quoted prices, as some retailers may quote you per square foot. This is a bit misleading in our opinion, as the price of a typical square will be four times that amount. Therefore, a carpet tile that sells for 4 dollars per tile will be cheaper than one that sells for $1.50 per square foot. In actuality, the cost of each of the commercial carpet squares in that example is in fact 6 dollars. Still, you’d be surprised at how many people jump for the option that sounds cheaper, when in fact it’s far more expensive at the end of the day.
Find some commercial carpet squares that suit your style. There are also plenty of options for residential carpet tiles if you enjoy the concept. In either case, you’ll have a very flexible means of carpeting that can be self installed, and generally makes owners very happy with their choice.
